Chess for all at Stonards Hill!

The Rotary Club of Epping, Essex, has been hard at work improving local recreational spaces, and we’re excited to share our latest project with you. Thanks to the support of our community, we’ve raised funds for a new chess table at Stonards Hill recreation grounds, adding a unique and engaging feature for residents of all ages to enjoy.

Inspired by the recent resurgence of interest in chess, exemplified by the popularity of “The Queen’s Gambit,” we saw an opportunity to bring people together through this classic game. Chess isn’t just about strategy; it’s a mentally stimulating activity that’s accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience level.

After successful fundraising efforts, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the chess table on May 17th at 4 pm. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a complete novice, we invite you to join us for an afternoon of friendly games and community bonding.

We’re grateful for the support of local residents, chess enthusiasts, and Friends of Rotary who made this project possible. Together, we’re creating inclusive spaces where people can connect, have fun, and enjoy the outdoors.

So, mark your calendars and come join us on May 17th as we celebrate the newest addition to Stonards Hill. Let’s make some moves and enjoy the benefits of community engagement and outdoor play.
